Whiplash is one of the most common injuries sustained by accident victims. When a vehicle is forced to stop while traveling at even low speeds, the seat belt holds the body in position while the head is jerked forward and then backward. The neck can be easily injured by that sudden movement.
Severity of Whiplash
You may go home feeling unharmed, only to wake up the next morning with a stiff and sore neck. This “neck sprain” may disappear on its own, or it could be a sign of a more serious neck injury.
If you were involved in a car accident, you are strongly encouraged to visit a physician for a neck exam and X-rays. Damage to the joints, discs, muscles and ligaments can be quite serious and require immediate treatment.
The law firm you choose makes a difference.
